If you are looking for an option trading tutor, you have come to the right place. At Options Trading IQ we’ve been education retail trades since 2010 and have tutorials on just about every possible option topic.

If you are new to options, you first need to learn the four basic strategies:

Long Call
Long Put
Short Call
Short Put

From there, I suggest you check out options trading 101 which will walk you through concepts such as how to read option quotes, margin requirements, option assignment, payoff diagrams and volatility.

At this point, if you’re still struggling with some of these concepts, it might be worth engaging an option trading tutor.

We’re always happy to help whether it be one-on-one coaching or a group course, there are plenty of options.

Option Trading Tutor – Reduce Your Learning Curve

Having a tutor or mentor will reduce your learning curve in any field and option trading is no different.

Even professional athletes have coaches and you could argue that a great coach can make all the difference between winning and losing.

When choosing a mentor, make sure to choose wisely.

You can certainly learn options trading on your own, there are plenty of free resources available these days, but it will take longer.

Find A Trading Style

One major problem beginners have is what I call “shiny object syndrome” where they are constantly chasing the new strategy or idea.

A better process is to focus on 2-3 core strategies and learn them inside and out. Then, move on to the more advanced strategies.

Vertical spreads are a great place to start and will help you understand key concepts such as volatility and the greeks.

This also gives you a chance to develop and good process and rules to follow. It is important to have rules and guidelines for each strategy rather than simply making decisions on the fly.

Many beginner traders are drawn to short-term options because of the high return potential, but remember with high returns comes high risk.

Longer-term options tend to be a bit slower moving and are a bit more forgiving which means you don’t have to react as quickly.

Weekly options in particular move very fast and need to be watched closely.

Choosing an option trading tutor that matches your trading style will give you the best chance of success.

Trade safe!
