Today, we’re looking at how to enter an iron condor on Interactive Brokers.
Anytime I’m doing a trade I’m going to always look at it in Risk Navigator first, just make sure everything looks okay.
Firstly, I’ll check that the expiration graph (blue line) looks good and that I’m also happy with the T+0 line (purple line).
I prefer to enter the trade as two vertical spreads as you will see in the below video.
To do that, type in the stock ticker, then go to Combinations then Option Combos.
Next choose Vertical Spread, select the expiration date and then choose the strikes.
Once the put spread is available, click on the bid price because we want to sell that spread.
Enter your price somewhere near the mid-point of the spread.
Now, do the same with the call spread.
That’s basically it. When you need to close the trade, instead of selling to open the spreads, you would do a buy to close order.
